Celeste Bowers is an attorney with Hutchens Law Firm, practicing out of the firm’s Columbia office. She began her legal career in real estate as a law clerk in 2012, and after being sworn in as an attorney in 2013, she made real estate her primary focus. Celeste’s practice spans all aspects of real estate transactions for buyers, sellers, investors, and lenders, with experience in residential and commercial closings, title insurance underwriting, and title curative matters, including litigation.
In 2025, Celeste expanded her practice to include Creditors’ Rights, allowing her to support lenders and financial institutions beyond the closing table. Her work in this area focuses on protecting creditor interests, navigating default-related matters, and helping clients move through complex situations with clarity and efficiency. This addition complements her real estate background and allows her to provide more comprehensive guidance throughout the life of a transaction.
Celeste is drawn to real estate closings because, unlike litigation, closings represent a moment where everyone moves forward. She finds meaning in helping buyers purchase a home to call their own and supporting sellers as they transition into the next stage of life. Whether celebrating with a first-time buyer or offering reassurance to a nostalgic seller, Celeste values the human side of her work and takes pride in building lasting relationships with clients and the realtors who place their trust in her.
Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Celeste went on to earn three degrees from the University of South Carolina and proudly says she truly bleeds garnet. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and later completed a joint program through the University of South Carolina School of Law and the Moore School of Business, earning both her Juris Doctor and an International Master’s in Business Administration.
Outside the office, Celeste is an avid traveler and had visited twenty eight countries as of the summer of 2025, with plans to continue exploring whenever possible. When closer to home, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying connected to the community she has always called home.
