A Fayetteville native and graduate of Pine Forest High School. Kelly Dowd Tomasic joined Hutchens Law Firm as an associate attorney in the creditors’ rights and bankruptcy department. She is also an adjunct instructor at Fayetteville Technical Community College where she provides instructions in the area of Business Law. As a former judicial law clerk, assistant district attorney, and criminal defense attorney, Ms. Tomasic brings a diverse background to the practice of federal bankruptcy law. A highlight moment of her career was successfully arguing before the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

“By engaging with many people from diverse backgrounds throughout my career, I learned early on the importance of providing outstanding service to each client, regardless of their circumstances. I have always enjoyed helping others navigate through the legal process.”

Kelly is devoted to serving her community as well. She is a former Attorney Advisor for mock trial teams at a local High School and, when the need arises, a guest speaker at a local elementary school for the Read Across America program. She is an active member of the Cumberland County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar Foundation. She also sits as an acting school board member for a local Christian Academy in Fayetteville.
