Partner Biography

Susan Benoit is a partner with Hutchens Law firm practicing in the area of real estate. But Susan’s real story is the added value of 20 years’ experience working in all aspects of real estate transaction processing, title examination, and mortgage origination before arriving at the firm. Susan started her real estate journey in a busy real estate law office as a receptionist and quickly moved into the closing world as a transaction processor. Susan worked on refinances, purchases and constructions loans. To make sure she understood all aspects of her client’s needs Susan moved from processing to title examination within the firm. Later Susan transferred to another office where she managed all aspects of the Real Estate practice under the supervision of the managing partner of the firm.

Being a military spouse Susan followed her husband out of state where she found employment at a mortgage originating office. There she learned all about originating mortgage loans, from processing, underwriting and then preparing loans for purchase by larger lenders. When the military brought Susan and her family back to Fayetteville, Susan went to work for a title agency where as a licensed title insurance underwriter she learned the title insurance implications of real property transactions. Feeling she had a solid understanding of real estate transactions Susan decided she was ready for law school and since passing the bar, Susan has put all of her work experience and practical skills to work growing the firms’ real estate transaction process.

“My path to the firm is unique – and my added perspective gives my clients a unique advantage that I’m proud to offer.” – Susan Benoit
