PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Jessica Bertovich joins Hutchens Law Firm as an associate practicing in the area of real estate law. She is originally from West Virginia but moved to Virginia upon graduating from West Virginia College of Law. She spent much of her practice in Virginia conducting residential real estate closings and managing the post-sale foreclosure department. She was admitted to the bankruptcy courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
After moving to North Carolina in 2012, she returned to the area of law that she enjoys the most - real estate law. She worked for two firms in Wilmington as a closing coordinator where she was responsible for everything from opening files and ordering payoffs to preparing Closing Disclosures and drafting final title policies. Her work as a closing coordinator enabled her to obtain a better understanding of the “big picture” of the real estate closing process and to appreciate the work that all parties (lenders, real estate agents, and closing attorneys) put into a closing.
In 2017, she became a licensed attorney in North Carolina and joined Hutchens Law Firm’s real estate department working in our Hampstead and Wilmington offices.
