Hutchens Law Firm Attorney Named “40 Under Forty” Recipient

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., (Feb. 20, 2014) — Hutchens Law Firm associate Christopher D. Foster has been chosen by The Fayetteville Observer as one of Fayetteville’s “40 Under Forty” business and community leaders. Each year, The Observer honors 40 of
the area's rising leaders for their business success and community impact. Honorees come from Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore,
Robeson, Sampson or Scotland Counties.

Honorees were nominated by their peers and selected by a panel of independent judges. They are considered dynamic professionals who have reached remarkable
heights early in their careers. They also have extensive records of community service and giving back to others through their time, talents and donations.

Foster works at Hutchens’ Fayetteville office and concentrates his areas of practice in wills, trusts, and estates, as well as business/corporate law, tax
exempt organizations, employee benefits, and tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and the North Carolina Department of Revenue. He was
recently named a 2014 Legal Elite “Young Gun” from Business North Carolina magazine, which recognizes the state’s up-and-coming lawyers.

Foster has served on numerous Boards of Directors for tax-exempt organizations to help the underprivileged as well as other charitable endeavors, including
the Salvation Army of Fayetteville, Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville, New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Coastal Carolina Chapter of the American Red
Cross. He also works pro bono to help non-profit groups form 501(c )(3) organizations.

He has a Bachelor’s degree from Presbyterian College where he graduated cum laude and with honors in Political Science. While there he was a member of Pi
Sigma Alpha and a recipient of the Order of the Omega. He was also a Belk Scholar and a Taylor Stukes Scholar, which is awarded to the most promising legal
student in each graduating class. Foster received an MBA from the University of South Carolina, Moore School of Business where he graduated class
valedictorian (4.0 GPA) and was inducted into the international honor society Beta Gamma Sigma. He received a Juris Doctor from the University of South
Carolina where he served as a member of the international legal honor society Phi Delta Phi and on the editorial staff of the Journal of International Law and Business. He also holds a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Florida, Levin College of
